Other Courses – Dog Behaviour & Training

Admit it, you’re addicted to all-things-dog, including dog behavior training. Me too.

When I first started in this career, there were almost no courses to go on, very few books, and hardly anyone involved with dog behaviour & training at the highest level at all.

Now it’s a mine-field of information – good, bad and ugly – and it’s important that you choose a course in dog behaviour and training wisely.

Dog Behaviour & Training

For those after a recognised, externally accredited award in dog behaviour and dog training, the Think Dog! Courses are a great place to start. Designed and written to fit in with the ethos and structure of the ABTC, they offer education at various levels, and for those after theoretical understanding, practical experience, or both.  Everything you could want in dog behaviour and dog training education courses.

Our most popular courses are:

An intermediate level award in canine behaviour and training

A unique and practically applied Intermediate course in canine behaviour and training. The course is home-study based, illustrated throughout, with accompanying DVD material. It is externally accredited by Open College Network South East Region (Laser Learning). It includes some practically-based observations and research. The course represents the cutting edge of modern behaviour theories and practice today.

A two-day practical handling and clicker training course, with Sarah Whitehead and Stella Bagshaw.

This two-day practical canine handling and training course is designed to help those who have some theoretical knowledge learn gentle, modern handling and training techniques in a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere. We include dog behaviour assessment, observational training, and individual coaching in clicker training skills.

An intermediate award in puppy class instruction

Four Units (one unit per month) by home-study (including video/DVD material) plus the opportunity to attend to watch one of Sarah’s puppy classes in action. Fully accredited by OCN South East Region (Laser Learning). This course covers all the joys and challenges of running puppy parties and puppy classes by those in the know! Structure, content, behavioural assessment, clicker training and off-lead management are all covered in this exceptional practically-applied course.

Sarah also offers Masterclasses for students of behaviour and training and co-professionals – sharing her unsurpassed knowledge and practical experience with those that are already practicing or who wish to be.

The topics for Masterclasses change each year – and cover everything from Dog-Dog Aggression, to specialist subjects such as ‘Sex and Hormones’.
